| Glenro meets the challenges of drying waterborne coatings with our Integrated Energy Delivery® Systems, which combine hot air and infrared in various ways. High Velocity Hot Air Impingement Dryers with Infrared Between the Nozzles One combination is high velocity hot air impingement with infrared heaters between the air nozzles. The typical solution to problems with drying waterborne coatings is to slow down the line to give the product more dwell time in the dryer, or to use longer ovens. Unfortunately, any gains in product quality achieved this way may be offset by losses in productivity and plant floor space. Glenro's air/infrared systems allow you to run coating lines at maximum speed without sacrificing product quality, and without wasting precious floor space. The combination of air impingement and infrared energy also solves aggravating coating blistering problems, because water doesn't become trapped beneath the coating's surface. Dryers with Infrared Predryers Glenro also combines infrared predryers with hot air dryers. You can increase line speeds by adding an infrared predryer to your Glenro dryer. The predryer quickly raises the product temperature, which starts the evaporative process before the product enters the dryer. The result is much faster and more efficient drying. Predryers help you meet the increased demands of drying waterborne coatings and finishes, and also help in drying heavy, saturated loads such as wet cotton batting.
Dryers with Infrared Postheaters
On the exit end of your engineered air system, you can add a postheater
to initiate curing by rapidly raising the coating temperature. Like
infrared predryers, postheaters occupy only a few feet of space next
to the dryer. Glenro can design postheaters and predryers for retrofit
into existing process lines, or for new lines.
